There’s just so much to do when you’re planning your wedding and, of course, looking your best is always a top priority. We asked Brigitte Beasse, beauty expert and Co-Founder of brigitte BEAUTÉ in Beverly Hills, California, to put together her must-have skincare prep tips to really help streamline things for you; consider this your skincare 101 how-to for your big day!
THE VERY FIRST STEP is to look for a Skin Care Expert who will assess your skin and give you a treatment plan that you will be following diligently until right before the event. Sharing your skin issues, bonding and working as a team with your esthetician are essential to reach your skin goals.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE?
I highly recommend starting as soon as you know that you are getting married. I would suggest one treatment a month, scheduling the last treatment one week before the wedding.
WHAT SHOULD MY TREATMENTS CONSIST OF?
-Always do an Alpha Hydroxy peel to exfoliate the dead cells and pigments,
-Always do extractions, as you want to keep your pores clean and minimized,
-Always have a lymphatic drainage massage performed to flush toxins away,
-Always have a customized mask which will address your skin concerns.
WHEN SHOULD I DO MY WAXING SERVICES?
Don’t forget to plan on your eyebrow shaping and any other face or body waxing services. Face waxing can be performed during treatments, but it is better when done in between treatments so as to avoid skin irritation.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AT HOME?
Your Skin Care Expert should start you on a progressive skin care regimen that will correct your skin concerns right before the wedding.
WHAT IF I NEED A CHEMICAL PEEL?
Chemical peels can be performed only if skin needs to be challenged regarding some more critical skin issues. I would stay away from any laser or heavy doctor chemical peels as you never know how your skin will heal and respond from them.
Happy Planning!
